Austrian Felix Gall won the 4th stage of the Tour de Suisse solo on Wednesday. Romain Bardet tried his best, but could only manage 7th place.
This Thursday, stage 4 of the Tour de Suisse took the peloton from Monthey to Leukerbad. The 152.5-kilometer route was designed for pure climbers, with four climbs in the second half, including the first-category Crans-Montana pass. On this difficult climb, ten breakaways left the rest of the field in their wake. Among them was Frenchman Lilian Calmejane (Intermarché – Circus – Wanty). He waited until the last climb of the day to position himself at the front, but was soon caught again. Felix Gall’s (AG2R-Citroën) acceleration left his companions glued to the asphalt.
